- Important Variant Note (CRV vs MRV vs V):
* Always inspect the full letter suffix printed on the original chip before replacing.
* MT6357CRV and MT6357MRV share the same physical footprint, but differences in internal OTP (One-Time Programmable) power table configurations can prevent proper CPU handshake or cause dead-phone / no-charge symptoms if cross-installed on sensitive boards.
- Common Fault Symptoms & Motherboard Diagnostics:
* Completely Dead Phone (0.00A on DC Supply): Power button press registers 0.00A or briefly pulses 0.01A–0.02A and drops back to zero due to missing RTC clock, open PWRKEY line, or burnt master buck coil.
* Dead After Flash (Common on Redmi 6A / Oppo A5s): Board dies during software flashing or formatting when sudden high-load CPU cycles cause degraded internal buck switches to fail.
* Auto MediaTek USB Port (BROM Mode): Screen remains black, but connecting via USB to PC immediately enumerates as "MediaTek USB Port (COMxx)" because the CPU powers up in emergency Boot ROM mode while RAM or eMMC memory rails are absent.
* Bootloop / Stuck on Brand Logo: Handset attempts to load the operating system but reboots repeatedly due to voltage drop on VPROC or VCORE coils under clock spikes.
* Complete Audio Loss: Loudspeaker or microphone stops responding permanently after power surges, caused by burnt analog audio blocks inside the chip.
